Nagarjuna Institute of Buddhist Studies Pvt. Ltd. (NIBS) is actively involved in the preservation of the extremely valuable and rare Buddhist Sanskrit Texts. For that reason, it has been running the Digital Buddhist Canon Project in collaboration with the University of the West, California. It has already digitized more than 50000 pages of Buddhist Sanskrit texts which are getting uploaded on its own website: www.dsbcproject.org. As for the preservation of Nepalese Buddhist Sanskrit Manuscripts, in the first phase, it successfully executed the Rare Buddhist Sanskrit Manuscript Scanning Project in collaboration with the University of the West, California. It had been able to scan 500 manuscripts in the first and second phases. Currently, it is once again planning to continue this project which is directed towards scanning another 200 more Buddhist manuscripts in July 2022 from the private collections of the Kathmandu valley.
